2 Chainz Talks Manchester Attack & Upcoming Album on 'The View'

On Wednesday (May 24), 2 Chainz stopped by The View and spoke his mind on a range of topics, including the terror attack in Manchester following an Ariana Grande concert, which left 22 dead and at least 59 injured.

"I think that that situation is very unfortunate," 2 Chainz said. "When people go to concerts, they feel like it's a place to get away. For some kids, it's their first time being away from their parents, and for parents, you hope that they have a good time, get back home safely and so when you speak of someone like Ariana Grande, you feel like this is a concert where it shouldn't be that much resistance ... it should be safe, 'cause I know a lot of the content from hip-hop rappers, you just assume, even the venue insurance is just different."

The Atlanta rapper also spoke about going out with his three daughters, who sometimes request that their dad doesn't sign autographs on a given night ("I use them for security sometimes"), potentially running for mayor in Georgia ("If I decided to do something like that, I would win easily") and securing A-list collaborations following an awkward inquiry from Ohio governor John Kasich.

He also said listeners could expect "growth and maturation from 2 Chainz" on his upcoming project, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, due June 16. "It's still edgy content, but trap music is defined as low socioeconomic background music where you have to hustle to get out and it's a situation where a lot of good girls used to like the bad guys, and that's what this album is about," he added.
